1. Marx argued that society will shift from capitalism to socialism to communism. Explain this process of social change and provide a critical assessment with reference to Marx’s theory of alienation.
2. According to Durkheim, suicide is a social fact, and suicide rates are a reflection of social attachment. Discuss with reference to Durkheim’s methodological approach and his study of suicide.
3. Pierre Bourdieu expanded upon the ideas of Karl Marx in order to explain social class. Discuss with reference to Marx’s conception of class and Bourdieu’s conception of capital.
