Hedonic Treadmill: Genetics and Adaption
There are two main explanatory factors for this, one is genetics the other is adaptation.
$The first factor, your genetic makeup, reflects the fact that to a certain extent your level of positive emotion is genetically inherited.
We continually adapt to improving circumstances to inevitable return to a point of relative neutrality. The more we accumulate or accomplish the more we expect of ourselves. We keep running on the treadmill and getting nowhere

My Philosophy for a happy life: Sam Berns

Seligman’s Authentic Happiness Equation:
$H=S+C+V
H….. enduring levels of happiness
S….. refers to your genetic set point. 50% of most personality traits are genetically determined. We have control over the remaining 50%.
C….. circumstances of your life
V…..Internal mind set-voluntary control

Hedonic Capacity=Positive Affectivity
