Assignment 3 – Discussion 1
POST 1
Universal Basic Income (UBI) and Social Investment Strategies (SIS) have long been
touted as effective solutions to various economic and social problems, yet each has advantages
and disadvantages that must be carefully considered before being put into practice (Sharda et al.,
2020). This essay will investigate both policies in depth, discussing their merits and
implementation approaches. Universal Basic Income (UBI) would provide every citizen a fixed
amount of money each month regardless of income level or employment status – it could even
provide them with tax breaks! One of the greatest advantages of UBI would be providing a safety
net for those struggling to make ends meet while providing people with greater freedom to
pursue their passions without worrying about whether their basic needs will be met. UBI could
help reduce income inequality and stimulate economic growth by placing more money in
consumers’ hands (Sharda et al., 2020).
However, there are also downsides associated with UBI policies; one major worry is its
implementation cost. Critics contend that UBI could be prohibitively expensive, necessitating
significant tax increases. Furthermore, critics voice concern that it could reduce productivity and
economic growth as individuals become disengaged from work as UBI encourages people to stay
home rather than go out to work (Kevins, 2022). UBI may lead to inflation as more money enters
the economy, while SIS focuses on investing in education, training, and infrastructure to promote
economic growth and reduce social inequalities. One advantage of SIS is its focus on specific
areas of need, like education and training, which could improve overall worker skill levels.
Furthermore, this program could create jobs and upgrade infrastructure – potentially reaping
long-term economic gains. However, SIS presents its challenges. One key concern is the cost
associated with its implementation; such an investment might require significant funding from
the government. However, investments made through SIS cannot guarantee economic or social
growth; and are potentially susceptible to being influenced by political interests resulting in
ineffective or inefficient investments. Implementation-wise, one approach could be to pilot both
policies in limited regions or communities first before widening them out more widely. This
would allow an assessment of their respective impacts before scaling them out more widely. As
well as helping identify any potential challenges and allowing further refinement of policies prior
to wider implementation. Both UBI and SIS policies offer their own set of advantages and
disadvantages (Kevins, 2022). UBI provides all citizens a basic income but may prove costly and
discourage work. Meanwhile, Social Investment Scheme (SIS) invests in education, training, and
infrastructure to promote economic development; however, this approach could prove expensive
and subject to political influences and potential political meddling. At its core, the optimal
approach would be to carefully assess each policy’s potential effects and pilot them in limited
areas before expanding implementation.

POST 2
UBI and SIS Cons and Pros as well as Implementation
The concept of universal basic income is a guaranteed minimum compensation for those
whose standard of living would inevitably decline due to the widespread adoption of artificial
intelligence. The second kind of payment is honoraria for public sector work. It is a gesture of
appreciation for individuals who go above and beyond to help others learn and grow. Both UBI
and SIS have been suggested, and if implemented, they might have far-reaching social effects
(Drago, 2021). Yes, the law has been changed so that people of all colors and beliefs may qualify
for state aid. Getting government aid is fraught with social stigma. Disincentives like universal
basic income and the supplemental security income system (SIS) guarantee that no one is left
behind economically. The second reward helped to encourage the worker to keep working rather
than discourage them. The third factor in alleviating poverty is moving money from one person
to another.
From these considerations, many problems emerge: Free money is the idea’s foundation,
yet this undermines the incentive to work. Second, this approach may improve people’s longterm financial habits. Some people may feel insulted by this method of distributing resources.
There is a process involved in putting AI into action. The first step is for the company to grasp
the distinctions between automation and artificial intelligence. Second, businesses must evaluate
their resources and anticipate their needs for the future (Chia, 2020). The organization’s aims
should be constantly re-emphasized if it is to succeed in its mission. Step two is doing an
accurate assessment of your skills. Businesses should think about getting advice from experts. As
such, they must have details ready to provide on their infrastructure. The business will soon be
prepared to launch. However, it is best to ease into things.

Assignment 4 – Discussion 2
POST 1
Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS) are computer-based tools that support groups
of people in making decisions. They can help improve collaboration and decision-making
outcomes in a variety of ways (Ziemba, 2021). This essay will explore how GDSS can improve
group collaboration and decision-making outcomes and what losses they can help eliminate or
reduce. To begin, GDSS can improve group collaboration by providing a platform for all
members to share their thoughts and ideas. This can result in better communication and create a
more cohesive team. The anonymity provided by GDSS can also increase participation rates
from team members who might want to keep their opinions private. This can lead to a better
representation of all views in decision-making processes. Furthermore, GDSS can help eliminate
or reduce losses that arise when decision-making processes are involved, such as barriers to
effective communication and challenges in ensuring all members are heard. Different persons
may give too little or too much information; thus, decentralized information authority widens
area expertise for clearer cross-discussion GDSS often offers the solution to these decisionmaking challenges (Ziemba, 2021).
Moreover, GDSS can also aid in reducing unanimity pressures, leading to a more diverse
representation of perspectives (Sharda et al., 2020). By seamlessly integrating and capturing all
data, both “positives and negatives, all evidence from all sides of a discussion is presented
without any tendency to organize opinions. Instead, a neutral consensus method that reflects how
other participants backed action is fact generated; individual participation anonymity helps
persuade people responsive relatively, giving lower regard for group views. On the contrary, the
implementation of GDSS can be hard, although it has some serious resistance gains such as
ignorance by team members, suitable Computer Inter-Network Structure, and also poor user
interface leads, getting benefits difficult (Sharda et al., 2020). These systems can be constraint by
market decisions, complex integrations, and confidentiality, e.g., trust in security compliance
given the stakeholders requires positive, friendly negotiations of issues and also along term
standing path drawing ensures towards the influence of the system on interpersonal ways; such
sensitivities must balance the issue of delivering democracy. In conclusion, Group Decision
Support Systems (GDSS) are valuable computer-based tools that can help improve collaboration
and decision-making outcomes in groups. Their presence leads to a good flow of comm.

POST 2
A top executive of the company may consult a collaborative decision support system for
guidance in reaching a decision whenever the company is confronted with a standardized or
semi-standardized situation. It is a beautiful tool for generating fresh ideas, settling arguments,
arranging priorities, and devising action plans. Because of the structured techniques for
collaborative decision-making, more time was spent debating topics in groups, and less time was
spent engaging in introspective activities alone (Sakka, 2020). One of the essential benefits
GDSS provides is the opportunity for all participants in the group to play an active part in the
exchange of information. This is one of the most significant advantages. As a result of the
collaborative aspect of GDSS, different team members can share their perspectives in real-time.
As a consequence, there is no possibility that any information will be lost in the process of
assembling data from a range of different sources.
Not only that, but it also stops other people from finding out who you are. When they feel
comfortable and supported inside the setting, participants are more inclined to speak out and
share their opinions on critical issues. It does not hinder employees’ freedom of speech but
encourages them to communicate their ideas freely for the firm’s purpose rather than keeping
their opinions to themselves. According to Sugiartawan and Hartati (2018), this action benefits
the firm and serves the company’s best interests. Because of this plan, the organization will have
access to more resources, which will make it possible to gather data in a more comprehensive
and detailed manner. Conversation at GDSS often revolves around the firm’s objectives firm and
the methods by which they might be accomplished. This method swiftly eliminates unnecessary
ideas, generating an insightful conclusion about the company. If you are accessing the thread
using GDSS, all your comments and other contributions will be immediately logged and
preserved in a database that other users may browse. In light of this, the GDSS is a valuable
resource for preventing data loss.
