As an intern at Beijing Foreign Enterprise, I undertake various tasks and responsibilities which include:

· Creating different customer documents,

· Handling customer staff personnel, social security, provident fund and other procedures and answering questions.

· Maintaining statistics of customer employees’ welfare, dispatch, evacuation, fee change and other data.

· Completing other tasks assigned by department leaders.

· Filing crucial documents within the company and write daily reports.

· Issuing work tickets to drivers.

I report to the Senior Human Resource Officer at the company The role of the human resource department is basically to ensure that people are strategically managed as a business resource. This means working closely with other employees to ensure that we work together towards meeting organizational goals. This makes collaboration with all employees necessary though there are some members of staff I get to interact with more. Firstly, I interact a lot with financial officers as I get to handle a lot of crucial financial documents. I also work closely with the marketing officers as well as the technology department to assist in selling the company to potential clients.

Its impact to the industry and any direct impact this may have to the business you work(ed) for.

The ever-increasing complexity of the human resource industry globally has led to new contemporary issues. Having worked at a human resource company I had the opportunity to experience these challenges first hand. The challenges are not specific to Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd but affect the human resource field of business as a whole.

Technology is the first contemporary issue that has hugely impacted the human resource industry both positively and negatively. Human resource practices are being affected largely by technological changes and companies as well as individuals may find themselves left out if they do not put the effort needed to keep up (Heslina & Syahruni, 2021). Technology leads to efficiency and effectiveness in human resource and can also lead to a company’s downfall. Keeping up with technology might be difficult and might require complicated software to implement some technological changes leading to additional costs for companies.

Technology does have its positive impact on human resource companies. One of the positive effects is easier data management and critical analysis. HR companies manage loads of employee information and most processes are usually monotonous. Technology has made the monotonous work no longer manual increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of work. Recovering the data is also made easy for whenever the data is needed. Technology has also enabled HR companies to provide top tier customer service and provide a good performance standard.

Another impact of technological change on human resources as an industry is that people can work in any part of the world. Human resource companies provide hiring services globally as they would want to expand and generate more revenue. On the flip side, the issue of employee and job applicants’ privacy and security of data has emerged. For example, the contemporary issue of technological change has increased the risk of data getting on to the hands of unwarranted third parties and hackers who would potentially use the information to cause harm to them.

How is the business prepared to handle or react to the issue?

There are a couple of steps that businesses are using to cope with technology, Firstly, they are Investing in research and development of new technologies. This is because the most viable, efficient and secure technological applications are constantly being developed to accelerate human resource services offered (FESCO, 2022). The ever-changing geopolitical landscape among nations would be another minor issue that would have to be considered by Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd and other human resource companies. For example, China and the U.S. have in the recent past had economic and political differences; thus, the company would have to diversify their developing markets to suit American culture and beliefs as well as practices in case they are interested in expanding to the US.

Human resource companies such as Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd would also have to develop robust cyber-security frameworks to ensure the safety of their client’s data. With the data theft and interference that is happening in today’s technological world, it is important for companies to know that people are information hungry and will often go to great heights to get their hands on valuable information.

It is therefore very important that human resource companies protect their client’s data by putting up ample security measures. This will not only be beneficial to their clients but also to companies as well since valuable company information is also often at risk. Securing company data will also assist human resource companies not to lose their valuable information.

Companies will also need to implement new technologies into their system. This is in an effort to keep up with the modern fast moving technological world. In order to implement these new technologies, they will need to take a few steps. Human resource companies need to investigate the technologies that will solve their company problems. Testing the technology using pilot programs allows the companies to work out kinks and find out whether the technology is really great for the company (Lukie, 2016). This is beneficial for saving both time and resources that would otherwise be spent installing and implementing the technology

Companies are also creating technology management teams. These are teams with people who have different skills and personalities. Assembling a team can be beneficial in dealing and adjusting quicky to new situations. New technology will therefore not throw off the human resource companies from achieving their company objectives. Older and younger company members are often pat of these teams as they understand technology differently. Providing regular training to employees and providing them with technological knowledge can also assist companies in dealing with technological issues. Soliciting employee feedback and implementing their ideas gives them a sense of ownership and motivates them.
