Need help with thesis statement.
For
a strong thesis statement, you only need two sentences. In the first sentence, establish the
one main idea or topic you would like to get across. In the next sentence, briefly preview the
main points that you will be giving to explain your main idea or
topic. The preview of these
main points will later become each of the body paragraphs of your
essay.
Organizational pattern
Description
Topic
Describe a favorite childhood place, whether it be a toy store, a friend’s house,
a playground, or
somewhere
else. Be very descriptive and try to appeal to as many senses as possible. Take
special care with the first couple of sentences, which should try to catch the reader’s attention.
Organizational order
(also useful for transitions between sentences and pa
ragraphs):
Space: inside to outside, up to down, front to back, or vice versa
Audience
People in the future who might be curious about who you were, perhaps your grandchild. Don’t
address anyone by
name but
have those people in mind when you write this
essay.
