(birds bones) chicken and (mammals bones) Cow
Compare the structure and shape of the chicken and cow bone?
Compare the density of the chicken and cow bone?
Density is defined as being more compact. Things that have a greater density are thick and have a greater weight. Which animal bone is denser? Why would it need to be denser based on the adaptations of the animal?
Why might the chicken and cow have these differences? Why might they have similarities? Chickens have the capability to fly and cows are strictly land mammals, so how might their bones reflect this difference? Think about the adaptations you have learned that birds have developed for flight and that mammals have developed for land.
