Help:
Mental health is defined by the World Health Organization as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” In other words, despite a brief episode of feeling sad, the individual is able to maintain the ability to carry on the major functions of life, such as going to work and taking care of his or her family. In contrast, nearly one out of five Americans suffer from a mental illness, and a much smaller group suffer from serious mental illness.
