Your Final Essay Assignment, due Monday December 14 at 11.59 pm as stated in the syllabus. Worth 10% of your grade, it should be done on an individual basis; please do not consult or work with other members of your group or other students in this class. The Final Essay Assignment consists of three parts: Part 1 is a 400-word essays exploring comparisons between your complex society and others we studied in class (Egypt, Aksum, Jenne Jeno, Swahili Coast, Zimbabwe). Part 2 is a 400-word essays exploring comparisons between your complex society and ones studied by other small groups. You will have already watched two of the groups′ presentations to do your Peer Review, but I recommend looking at the other presentations as well! Part 3 has two 100-word short reflections on how global history has shaped our knowledge of the African past, and what lessons Ancient African Civilizations have for us in the 21st century.
