The Written Report:

-Paper must be typed in Word and be between 4 and 8 pages in length. You may use any fontyour like (e.g. Times New Roman, Ariel, Cambria, etc.), but the paper must be written in 12-pointfont, double-spaced, with 1 inch margins, and of at least 4 full pages of writing (not including references or titles/headings). Cite at least 3 academic sources in your paper.

– Paper should include the following sections (clearly labeled):

1. An Introduction in which you briefly discuss what you see as your major findings. The

introduction should include a brief description of the policy or profession and also clearly

depict the focus of your paper. Your introduction must firmly situate the topic of your paper in

the literature – discuss what prior research has shown about this particular aspect of aging or

highlight the patterns of historical change in addressing aging.

2. Analysis will form the majority of the paper. It is critical that you link your discussion to

concepts, theories, and issues. Describe the policy, the issues it was designed to

address, the population it serves, its impact on our society, and any intergenerational concerns

or critiques it has raised.

3. The Conclusion should briefly summarize your understanding of the policy and the main points of your paper. It should also reflect on how your paper broadly

and discuss how your points either supported or

contradicted findings of prior research or demonstrated historical change.

4. A references page must list the sources cited throughout the paper in either APA or ASA format.

Although you may choose which style to use, you must consistently and correctly format the

citations and references throughout your paper.
