My name is Dave. My girlfriend friend Dani and I came into eat at The Steak Houz at the Main Street location back in June. We had a reservation but when we got there there was no table ready for us. The host told us that we were probably going to have to wait at least 30 mins. She told us that we could go and wait in the lounge if there was a table available so we did what she said and went into the lounge. There wasn’t any table and there wasn’t even any chairs at the bar. So we ended up have to stand behind the people who were sitting at chairs by the bar. It was really inconvenient because my girlfriend was wearing high heels and she said they’re really uncomfortable to stand in and she really didn’t want to stand but we had to because there was no where that we could find a seat. Finally the bartender came over and asked what we wanted to drink. He told us that mojitos were on special for $6 so we said that we would both have one, but we wanted it with dark rum not white rum. I don’t know if he didn’t hear me say dark rum or if he just forgot but when we got the drinks they were with white rum. I let him know and he apologized and said he would re-make them right away. I saw him make them and he said he would get a waitress to bring them over because we couldn’t get close enough to the bar anymore because the people that were sitting their moved their chairs. When the waitress was coming around to bring our drinks, just when she came around the bar a guy at the table on the end pushed out his chair to get up & it ended up knocking the tray over and Dani ended up getting it all over her shirt. The bartender was going to make the drinks again for a 3rd time, but the host had actually just gotten there to tell us our table was ready so we said not to bother making them again. Finally we sat down and ended up being served by a nice waiter. Of course we both ordered steaks, but now if enough hadn’t gone wrong already I ordered my steak medium well and it came out medium rare. I know what medium well is supposed to look like because I use to be a cook at Earls. I like my steak a bit pink, but I can’t eat it if its bloody so I sent it back. It was good when I finally got it, but it took so long that my girlfriend already finished eating before I even started. It really kinda ruined the experience of going out to dinner together. We ended up paying – everything came up to $110.19 and then the manager came by after and asked him how everything was so we told him everything. He apologized and said that he was going to discount everything by 50%. He brought the credit card machine back to the table and he said that he was going to reverse the charge for the dinner and took my card again and charged me only $55.10. Well last week I got my credit card bill in the mail and it turns out that the manager didn’t reverse the first charge so I ended up getting billed for $165.29! I called yesterday and spoke to a girl named Susan that said she was the supervisor but was really rude and said there was nothing she could do after the fact because I didn’t have the receipts and said “you have a nice day” and just hung up on me. Susan would not listen to us so that is why I would like your help in finding out the realities of this matter. It could be that your staff are doing this to other customers hoping that no one notices. Please help. Thank you very much for your time. Hoping to hear from you soon.
