2. Relationship between GPA scores and LSAT scores
Introduction
In this example, we will determine if there is a relationship between GPA scores and LSAT
scores. There were 82 samples colleges from undergraduate law students in the class of 2000.
This is important because it matters to students who are interested in Law school.
Findings
The average GPA, or mean, based on the 82 undergraduate students was a 3.13. The LSAT mean
score was 597.58. The standard deviation was about 0.18 for the GPA and 38.48 for the LSAT.
The lowest GPA of all of them was 2.58 while the highest was 3.5. The lowest LSAT score was
477 while the highest was 704.
The correlation coefficient between GPA and LSAT scores is 0.7599. This number shows that
there is a strong and positive relationship between GPA and LSAT scores. That being said,
usually a higher GPA will lead a person to have higher LSAT scores.
The scatter plot continues to show that there is a strong and positive relationship between GPA
and LSAT scores. This backs up our findings based on the correlation coefficient.
Conclusion
In conclusion, from our findings we have found that there is a strong relationship between GPA
and LSAT scores. We can infer that students who have a higher GPA, score higher on the LSAT.
And vice versa. It is vital that students who are looking into Law school have a 3.0 GPA to get a
good score on the LSAT. That being said, grades matter.

Introduction
In this section, we will be reviewing data from the Law School Admission Test. This data consists
of two variables: GPA and LSAT Scores. The information was taken from students trying to get
into law school in 2000. There is data from eighty-two students total. Conducting this kind of
study can allow there to be reference of how a student may do on their LSAT by referencing the
current GPA they hold.

Conclusion
It can be concluded that GPA scores do have an effect of how students perform on their Law
School Admission Test. It can be seen in the results that students with at least a 3.0 GPA or
above perform better on their LSAT than students who do not.
Students who are interested in studying law should work hard in their academics now as it will
reflect their work in the future. Having a good GPA now will help with success in future
academics, such as studying law.

In this assignment, we will analyze the relationship between GPA and LSAT scores in
order to give some advice to interested undergraduate law students. To be more convincing,

students, as it can give them solid advice and help them make choices they won’t regret.

Conclusion
After data analysis, we can conclude that GPA is closely related to LSAT scores. The
higher GPA, the higher LSAT score. The suggestion from this conclusion for undergraduate
students interested in studying law is that if students want to do well on the LSAT, they at
least have a 3.0 GPA.

Here we are looking at the correlation of GPA to lsat score, and if GPA effects lsat scores. This
study is important to look at because we want to see if GPA actually affect LSAT scores, or if
GPA has no effect on result of lsat score. We can take this data and apply to things like college

Overall, from all the data that was given and that was plotted, we saw a strong correlation of high
gpa to high lsat score. The CC was .79 and was a strong positive that was close to +1. This data
is a perfect example of how having better grades in school results in better gpa, which can then
result in better test scores for future uses. If anyone wants to know how well they will perform
on LSAT or on any test, then they can look at their GPA and somewhat see how they will
perform. Due to the strong positive correlation, it makes this data pretty credible and relevant for
future use, schools, and teachers can see this and adjust how they teach their students.
